Is Process Free?

What does it cost to implement good processes and associated BPM?

Jim Sinur over at Global 360.com makes a good case for process being free. But one of the questions I have floated to him is the following: "If process is 'free' or indeed if it is a net profit centre, why aren't more companies jumping onto this?" It would seem to be to make good business sense to do this as it will
  • Improve your business
  • reduce your costs
  • potentially do the above for zero net cost

What are your thoughts on this?
